Kamui Ski Resort
Hokkaido, Japan
Kamui
Ski
Resort
is
a
medium
sized
resort
close
to
Asahikawa
city
(there
are
free
shuttles
running
from
there).
It
has
a
reputation
for
being
a
very
quiet
ski
resort
(rarely
any
queues),
and
on
a
powder
day
you
can
have
it
all
nearly
to
yourself.
Off
piste
riding
is
positively
encouraged,
and
even
the
couple
of
out
of
bounds
zones
are
hardly
ever
enforced.
It
is
also
super
cheap,
with
lift
passes
being
just
¥3,000
yen/day.
On
the
downside,
it
is
hard
to
find
anything
too
steep
in
the
resort
and
the
bottom
section
is
quite
flat,
so
it
is
a
bit
of
a
drag
getting
back
to
the
gondola.
The
10
day
Hokkaido
Unplugged
tour
sometimes
visits
Kamui
if
conditions aren't right for some of the more extreme resorts.
