Goryu may not be as big as Happo, but it is big nonetheless and has terrain to suit everybody. It has great intermediate and advanced runs at the top, one of the longest and steepest mogul runs you will see anywhere and has a fantastic beginners area at the bottom. On top of that it is linked with Hakuba 47 next door, and you can go to both ski-fields on the same ticket. It too has nearly a of the highest vertical drops in Japan-about 1,000 metres and has incredible views of the grand Northern Japan Alps. Once you have finished on the slopes you can have an onsen (hot spring) in their Escal Plaza base centre.
